Economic History Lab

Main content start

The Economic History Lab was active from 2018 to 2019.

The Economic History Lab provided opportunities for faculty to work closely with undergraduate students, predoctoral fellows, graduate students, and postdoctoral fellows to support historical research in economic history. The initiative also fostered methodological innovations that could help historical research to scale up, including new learning models that could substantially improve the digitization of data tables or text analysis technology.

The initiative provided research support for economic history faculty from around campus (predoctoral students and graduate research assistants, and regular lab research meetings), for graduate students (traveling to conferences, conducting archival work, collecting and coding data, and spending time to learn their historical context), and for development of undergraduate courses in economic history.
